House Bill 241
AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE CASHING OF CHECKS THAT REPRESENT AN AID TO FAMILIES WITH DEPENDENT CHILDREN PAYMENT OR A TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE TO NEEDY FAMILIES PAYMENT BY A LICENSEE UNDER THE GAMING CONTROL ACT OR AN EMPLOYEE OF SUCH A LICENSEE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. A licensee or employee of a licensee shall not cash a check that represents an Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) payment or a Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) payment, or accept such a check in exchange for any chip, token or similar object.
SECTION 2. Section 1 of this act shall be codified as a separate code section in Chapter 76, Title 75, Mississippi Code of 1972.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1999.
